Meat Cuber

A meat cuber is a great tool for anyone that loves to cook.  Contrary to how the name sounds, a meat cuber does not cut meat into cubes.  Instead, what it does it to tenderize the meat.  It is great for tougher cuts of meat like flank steak and is used most typically for cuts of beef.  Sometimes it might be used for chicken or turkey as well or for wild meat like deer or elk.

The meat cuber tenderizes meat by breaking down the membranous muscle tissues that can make meat tough.  Simply feed the meat into the rollers slowly as you use the hand crank. Once the muscle tissues are broken down the meat can be put into marinade and it will soak it in faster.  This can result in some delicious cube steaks and cutlets.    A meat cuber will also reduce the cooking time by a large degree.  Try using a meat cuber with flank steak and then marinating it in your favorite sauce and cooking it slowly on an outdoor grill.  Even the toughest of meats can become tender with a meat cuber.

Once you are done with your meat cuber make sure to clean it thoroughly.  Just as with any piece of cooking equipment that handles raw meat you need to be careful that little pieces of meat do not get left behind.  An improperly cleaned meat cuber will gather bacteria that will be transferred to new meat that goes through it and that can result in many types of food poisoning.  Take the meat cuber apart as much as possible (they have many removable parts) and clean each piece with hot and soapy water.  Make sure the blades and the steel rollers get adequate attention.  After it is clean let it air dry before you put it away.

If you love to cook or love summer barbecues you will be delighted with the tenderness of your meat after it has gone through a meat cuber.  Not only will your meat be tender but it will taste wonderful after it has been soaked in a marinade.
